Lurs (also Lors, Lori) are an Iranic people living mainly in southwestern Iran.
Lur people mostly speak in Lori, a Southwestern Iranian language, closely related to Persian.Lurs primarily inhabit the provinces of mainly Lurestan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, parts of Khuzestan, Isfahan province, and Hamadan of Iran.In Khuzestan, Lur tribes are primarily concentrated in the northern part of the province, while in Ilam they are mainly in the southern region.Ethnologists classify the Lurs as aboriginal Persians.
Their language forms a dialect of Persian and does not differ materially from Persian.
While they are culturally close to the Kurds and have direct similarities.
