One of them is the Vāśibhã Monastery (Po Shi Po), where he finds over seven hundred Mahayana monks from all over East India.
He also visits Somapura Mahavihara at Paharpur in the district of Naogaon, Bangladesh: it is among the best known Buddhist viharas in the Indian Subcontinent.
