Béhanzin
King of Dahomey
Béhanzin (1844 – December 10, 1906, in Blida, Algeria) is considered the eleventh (if Adandozan is not counted) King of Dahomey.
Upon taking the throne, he changes his name from Kondo.
He succeedshis father, Glele, and rules from 1889 to 1894.
Behanzin is Abomey's last independent ruler established through traditional power structures.
He is a ruler who led the national resistance during the Dahomey War.
