governor of Roman Britain
135 CE to 180 CE
Caerellius Priscus is a governor of Roman Britain in the late 170s.
His rule is recorded on an altar at Mainz, and he probably governs Britain between 178 and 180.
He had also served previously in Thracia, Moesia, Raetia and Germania.
A war breaks out in Britain in 180 and Priscus, perhaps slain in the conflict, is swiftly replaced by Ulpius Marcellus.
