Iamblichus, also known as Iamblichus Chalcidensis, (c. 245–c.
325) is a Syrian Neoplatonist philosopher who determines the direction taken by later Neoplatonic philosophy.
He is perhaps best known for his compendium on Pythagorean philosophy.
