Djerba, Battle of
The naval Battle of Djerba (Turkish: Cerbe) takes place in May 1560 near the island of Djerba, Tunisia in which the Ottomans under Piyale Pasha's command overwhelm a large joint European fleet, chiefly Spanish forces, sinking half its ships.
