Ellandun, Battle of
The Battle of Ellandun is fought between Egbert of Wessex and Beornwulf of Mercia in September 825.
It effectively ends Mercian supremacy over the southern kingdoms of Anglo-Saxon England and establishing West Saxon dominance in southern England.
