Russo-Turkish War of 1828-29
1828 CE – 1829 CE
The Russo–Turkish War of 1828–1829, sparked by the Greek War of Independence, breaks out after the Sultan, incensed by the Russian participation in the Battle of Navarino, closes the Dardanelles for Russian ships and revokes the Akkerman Convention.
