In Romania, the fascist Legion of the Archangel Michael had been dissolved by government fiat in December 1933, but it has reappeared as Totul Pentru Tara (Everything for the Fatherland) and now flourishes, with some support from King Carol II.

Christian Defense League leader A. C. Cuza, poet and politician Octavian Goga, and Iron Guard leader Corneliu Codreanu, who had founded the legion, join in an anti-Semitic demonstration with 280,000 people and the blessings of Romanian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Miron Cristea.
