New Orleans founding father Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville, to the rejoicing of the city's settlers, by April 19 resumes his post as governor of Louisiana in 1733 after an eight year absence in France.
This last term in office is to be one of conflict, as relations with the Chickasaw have deteriorated.
