Querandí

Years: 1396 - 1683

The Querandí are one of the Het peoples, indigenous South Americans who live in the Pampas area of Argentina; specifically, they are the eastern Didiuhet.

The name Querandí is given by the Guaraní people, as they consume animal fat in their daily diet.

Thus, Querandí means "men with fat".

They are also well known as the Pampas prior to the nineteenth century.

Mapuche (or araucanos) call them Puelche.
