Anglo-Spanish War of 1727-29

Years: 1727 - 1729

The Anglo-Spanish War of 1727–1729 is a limited war that takes place between Great Britain and Spain during the Eighteenth Century, and consists of a failed British attempt to blockade Porto Bello and a failed Spanish attempt to capture Gibraltar.

It eventually ends with a return to the previous status quo ante bellum following the Treaty of Seville.

“History isn't about dates and places and wars. It's about the people who fill the spaces between them.”

― Jodi Picoult, The Storyteller (2013)
