The Swiss Confederacy conquers Thurgau, Konstanz's natural hinterland, in 1460.

Konstanz now makes an attempt to get admitted to the Swiss Confederacy, but the forest cantons vote against its entry, fearing overbearing city states; Konstanz then joins the Swabian League instead.
