The First Italo-Ethiopian War is fought between Italy and Ethiopia from 1895 to 1896.

Ethiopia's military victory over Italy, obtained also with Russian support, secures it the distinction of being the only African nation to successfully resist European colonialism during the Scramble for Africa.
