Pisonian conspiracy
Years: 65 - 65
The conspiracy of Gaius Calpurnius Piso in CE 65 represents one of the major turning points in the reign of the Roman emperor Nero (54–68).
The plot signifies the growing discontent among the upper social strata of the Roman state with regard to Nero's increasingly despotic leadership, and as a result is a significant event in the road towards his eventual suicide, and the chaos that follows.
