Timurid Succession Crisis, Second

Years: 1447 - 1470

The Timurid Civil Wars are a series of succession crisis and turf wars in Central Asia of the princes of the Timurid Empire mainly during the fifteenth century.

The death of Shahrukh Mirza in 1447 initiated the long drawn out Second Timurid Succession Crisis.

His only surviving heir is his son Ulugh Beg who was at this time viceroy of Central Asia at Samarkand.

“History is not a burden on the memory but an illumination of the soul.”
