1900 CE
A blood libel occurs in Konitz, Prussia, after the death of a local student.
Wolf Israelski is accused and arrested, while Count Plucker promotes riots against the Jews.
After Israelski is proved innocent, two others, Moritz Lewy and Rosenthal, are arrested on the same charge.
Rosenthal and Lewy are acquitted, but Lewy is sentenced to four years for denying he knew the victim.
All the evidence is based on the testimony of a petty thief, Masloff, who later receives only one year for perjury.
