Britain is covered in a final ice…
23373 BCE to 21646 BCE
Britain is covered in a final ice age between around seventy thousand and ten thousand years ago.
An extreme cold snap in an already icy Britain between twenty two-thousand and thirteen thousand years ago called the Dimlington stadial (with the Last Glacial Maximum at around twenty thousand years ago) may well have driven humans south and out of Britain altogether, pushing them back across the land bridge that had resurfaced at the beginning of the glaciation, possibly to a refuge in southern France and Iberia.
