A lynch mob storms the Old Parish…

1891 CE

A lynch mob storms the Old Parish Prison in New Orleans and lynches the eleven Italians arrested but found innocent of the murder of Police Chief David Hennessy.

Some are shot and killed in the jail where they are detained on March 14, 1891.

It is the largest mass lynching in U.S. history.
