Incidents between locals and the Mexican revenue…
August 1835 CE
Incidents between locals and the Mexican revenue forts at Anahuac and Velasco have caused minor confrontations between Texian militia and Mexican troops.
Texians informally debate the issues throughout 1835, as a few try to incite discontent.
The Texians as a whole are relatively loyal to a constitutional Mexico into August, despite their disgust over what had happened to Austin, the horrific events in Zacatecas, the call to disarm militias, the order to expel all illegal immigrants, and particularly the dissolution of the Constitution of 1824.
The continued increasing presence of Mexican troops, their unrelenting demand for individual radical Texian leaders to be delivered for military trial, and major legislative land scandals begin to erode the Texians' support for the Peace party and attachment to Mexico, and to build support for the War Party and independence.
