February 1835 CE
Governor Lucas, acting as commander-in-chief of Ohio's militia, arrives in Perrysburg, Ohio, ten miles (sixteen kilometers) southwest of Toledo, along with General John Bell and about six hundred other fully armed militiamen, on March 31, 1835.
Shortly thereafter, Governor Mason and General Brown arrive to occupy the city of Toledo proper with around a thousand armed men, intending to prevent Ohio advances into the Toledo area as well as stopping further border marking from taking place.
