O’Neill serves as aide-decamp and commander of the scout patrols.
Once the bay has been entered, O’Neill’s scouts land on the mainland and blunt an attack by four hundred mainly pro-British Choctaws on the afternoon of March 28.
The scouts soon join forces with the Spanish troops arriving from Mobile.
