Bienville orders the Governor of the Illinois…
1736 CE
Bienville orders the Governor of the Illinois District, Pierre d'Artaguette, to meet him in Chickasaw country with all available force to launch a coordinated attack at the beginning of 1736.
In the event, Bienville arrives late, so d'Artaguette attacks independently on March 25, and is crushed.
After weeks of preparation, Bienville attacks from the south on May 26, and is himself bloodily repulsed.
