Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín have defeated the last of the loyalists by the end of 1824.
The two liberators now quickly fall out, and Bolivar wins control of the movement.
Bolívar gives up his title of dictator of Peru on February 10, 1825, and takes the alternative title of El Libertador.
