The thirty-two-gun Danish frigate Frederiksværn had sailed…
August 1807 CE
Admiral Lord Gambier had sent the seventy-four-gun third rate Defence and the twenty-two-gun sixth rate Comus after her, even though war had not yet been declared.
Comus is much faster than Defence in the light winds and so had outdistanced her.
On August 15, Comus catches Frederiksværn off Marstrand and captures her.
The British take her into service as Frederikscoarn.
