April 1611 CE
Denmark’s Christian IV claims dominion over the Norwegian and Baltic seas.
In response to Sweden's claim of a traditionally Dano-Norwegian area in Northern Norway, Denmark finally declares war upon Sweden and invades in April 1611.
The Danes plan to attack the Swedes on three scenes; from Kristianopel towards Kalmar, from Halmstad towards Jönköping and from Norway towards the fortress of Älvsborg and thereafter further into Västergötland.
A force of six thousand men besieges the city of Kalmar, ultimately taking it.
Norwegian forces, although stationed on the border, are instructed not to enter Sweden.
