Elections for New York's Legislature take place…
November 1845 CE
Elections for New York's Legislature take place in November 1845, less than a month after the close of the trials in Delhi.
Though the “Indians” are no more, the farmers have united under the Anti-Rent Party, its ranks swelled by others who, although originally unsympathetic to the cause, are appalled by the heavy legal repression.
The Anti-Renters win many seats in the Legislature, and a call by both major political parties for a New York Constitutional Convention carries by two hundred thousand votes.
