A Kiowa party led by war leader Guikate makes an offer of peace to a Comanche party while both are visiting the home of a common friend of both tribes in the early spring of 1790 at the place that will become Las Vegas, New Mexico

This leads to a later meeting between Guikate and the head chief of the Nokoni Comanche.

The two groups make an alliance to share the same hunting grounds and enter into a mutual defense pact and become the dominant inhabitants of the Southern Plains.

From this time forward, the Comanche and Kiowa will hunt, travel, and make war together.
