French forces have been delayed in departing…
July 1744 CE
French forces have been delayed in departing Louisbourg and their Mi'kmaq and Maliseet allies, in conjunction with Father Jean-Louis Le Loutre, decide in early July to attack on their own.
Annapolis has received news of the war declaration, and is somewhat prepared when the natives begin besieging Fort Anne.
Lacking heavy weapons, the natives withdraw after a few days.
