January 1577 CE
Frobisher is received and thanked by the queen at Windsor.
Great preparations are made and considerable expense incurred for the assaying of the great quantity of "ore" (about two hundred tons) brought home.
This takes up much time, and leads to considerable dispute among the various parties interested.
In the meantime, the faith of the queen and others remains strong in the productiveness of the newly discovered territory, which she herself names Meta Incognita, and it is resolved to send out a still larger expedition, with all necessaries for the establishment of a colony of one hundred men.
Frobisher is again received by the queen, and Her Majesty throws a fine chain of gold around his neck.
