Gálvez seeks to capture Pensacola in the fall of 1780, but when an invasion fleet finally sails in October, it was dispersed by a hurricane a few days later.

Gálvez will spend nearly a month regrouping the fleet at Havana.

Its tattered remnants will make their way back to either Havana or New Orleans, and planning begins again for an expedition in 1781.
