March 1836 CE
At Goliad, Urrea's flying column catches Colonel James Fannin's force of about three hundred men on the open prairie at a slight depression near Coleto Creek and makes three charges at a heavy cost in Mexican casualties.
Overnight, Urrea's force surrounds the Texans, brings up cannon and reinforcements, and induces Fannin's surrender under terms the next day, March 20.
