November 1002 CE
…Germany, where he is received by Henry the Strong.
At first, Henry orders his guest's arrest because of some old offense, but soon forgives him and promises support.
In 1002, Emperor Henry II grants two land areas to the margrave: one of eighteen square miles southwest on Vienna, and another of twenty-two hides between the Kamp and the March rivers.
Both grants are on the frontier—the former on the Hungarian, the latter on the Polish.
