The first electric light bulb in Bulgaria is used at the first International Fair Plovdiv, established in August 1892 as an industrial and agricultural show.

In its initial year, the Plovdiv Fair has an exhibition area of ninety thousand square meters, participants from twenty-four countries and and will host one hundred and sixty-two thousand visitors during its two and a half months.
