David Livingstone had returned to Africa in…
April 1866 CE
David Livingstone had returned to Africa in January 1866, this time to Zanzibar, whence he sets out to seek the source of the Nile.
There is still serious debate on the matter.
Richard Francis Burton, John Hanning Speke and Samuel Baker had identified either Lake Albert or Lake Victoria as the source (which is partially correct).
Livingstone believes the source is further south and has assembled a team of freed slaves, Comoros Islanders, twelve Sepoys and two servants, Chuma and Susi, from his previous expedition to find it.
