August 1933 CE
Dissident members of Haganah had established the Irgun Tzvai Leumi (National Military Organization) in October 1931; Ze-ev Jabotinsky, who has formulated the movement’s ideology, is named Supreme Commander.
For reasons of secrecy, people often refer to the Irgun, during this time, as Haganah Bet (Hebrew: literally "Defense 'B' " or "Second Defense").
In August 1933, a "Supervisory Committee" for the Irgun is established, which includes representatives from most of the Zionist political parties.
