A centralista Mexican soldier bludgeons Texian settler Jesse McCoy with a musket in an altercation in the DeWitt Colony.

On September 20, General Cos lands at Copano with an advance force of about three hundred soldiers bound for Goliad, San Antonio, and San Felipe de Austin.

Stephen Austin, released in July, having never been formally charged with sedition, had been in Texas by August.

Seeing little choice but revolution, consultation is scheduled for October to discuss possible formal plans to revolt, and Austin sanctions it.
