Israel dismisses the Iraqi statement as meaningless.

Foreign Minister Yitzhak Shamir states, "that there has been no change in Iraq's attitude towards Israel."

Ariel Sharon also dismisses the Iraqi statement, adding that Israel would not agree to negotiations that include any members of the PLO in a Jordanian delegation or even West Bank Palestinians who support the PLO.
