Ricardo López Jordán seeks asylum at Fray Bentos, Uruguay on September 3, 1879.

He had been held at Curuzú Cuatiá, Goya, Paraná, and Rosario; during the course of three years, his trial had been repeatedly postponed, until, disguised as a woman, he had escaped from prison with the help of his wife, Dolores Puig, on August 12.
