June 1880 CE
Claude Monet had painted Camille on her death bed.
Following her death from tuberculosis at the age of thirty-two on September 5, 1879, Monet had made paintings of the Seine; he does not participate in the Impressionist group show of 1880.
La Vie Moderne gives him a one-man show in June, in which he exhibits a number of Vétheuil landscapes.
He submits to the Salon two paintings of Lavacourt, of which one is accepted.
