Cecil Rhodes’ British South Africa Company controls…
1898 CE
Cecil Rhodes’ British South Africa Company controls a huge area north of the Transvaal, including Northern and Southern Rhodesia, named for him.
The designation Southern Rhodesia is officially adopted in 1898 for the part south of the Zambezi, which will later became Zimbabwe; and the designations North-Western and North-Eastern Rhodesia have been used from 1895 for the territory which will later become Northern Rhodesia, then Zambia.
