The Haitian National Assembly, after setting up…
1864 CE to 1875 CE
The Haitian National Assembly, after setting up an interim provisional government, selects Nissage Saget as president.
Saget had completed his term of office (1870-74) and stepped down voluntarily.
His successor, President Boisrond Canal, will resign in 1879 in the absence of legislative cooperation.
All of the subsequent presidencies until 1915 will begin and end with force or the threat of it.
