Senusret's successor Amenemhat III, who ruled from ruled from around 1860 BCE to about 1814 BCE, maintains his predecessor's foreign policy but leaves the growing troubles of government to his surviving daughter, the dynasty's last ruler.
Amenemhat is remembered for the mortuary temple at Hawara that he built, known to Herodotus, Diodorus, and Strabo as the "Labyrinth.”
