1888 CE to 1899 CE
Policarpo Bonilla begins to restore a limited degree of order to the Honduran political scene when he assumes power in 1894.
Another constitution is promulgated in 1895, and Bonilla is elected to a four-year term.
Bonilla's administration revises civil codes, improves communications, and begins an effort to resolve the longstanding boundary dispute with Nicaragua.
Bonilla also ensures that in 1899, at the end of his term, he will succeeded by his military commander, General Terencio Sierra.
