December 1945 CE
The Arab Higher Executive for Palestine (the Arab Higher Committee), which includes a broad spectrum of Palestinian leaders, is appointed by the Arab League to speak for the Palestinian Arabs.
The league pledges to prevent the formation of any Jewish state in Palestine, and in December 1945 declares a boycott of goods produced by Zionist firms in Palestine.
A special office is established to prevent such goods from being smuggled into Arab countries.
The pattern of the postwar struggle for Palestine is unmistakably emerging.
