1710 CE
The Chickasaw have for decades conducted slave raids over a wide region.
Chickasaw raiders are often joined by Natchez and Yazoo warriors.
The warriors raid over great distances to capture slaves from enemy tribes.
For example, in 1713, a party of Chickasaw, Natchez, and Yazoo raiders attacks the Chaoüachas, a small tribe living near the mouth of the Mississippi River a short distance below the present New Orleans.
The grand chief of the Chaoüachas is killed; his wife and ten others are carried off as slaves to be sold to the English.
