The rapid growth of German trade unionism…
August 1868 CE
The rapid growth of German trade unionism is shown by the general congress of the ADAV in Hamburg in August 22-26, with thirty-six delegates representing 7,274 members from eighty-three organizations.
The congress discusses political freedom, the late Lassalle, the working day, the international character of the labor movement, and the work of Marx, whom Jean Baptista von Schweitzer had invited as an honorary guest (he did not accept the invitation).
