William Clark enters the Crow tribe's territory…
August 1806 CE
In the night, half of Clark's horses had disappeared, but not a single Crow had been seen.
Lewis and Clark stay separated until they reach the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers on August 11.
As the groups reunite, one of Clark's hunters, Pierre Cruzatte, mistakes Lewis for an elk and fires, injuring Lewis in the thigh.
Once together, the Corps is able to return home quickly via the Missouri River.
They will reach St. Louis on September 23, 1806.
