The Kaws have found security from White harassment on their Indian Territory lands, but the tribe has continued to decline, especially the full-blood members.

By 1888 they number only one hundred and eighty-eight persons and the Kaws seem on the road to extinction.

However, they will slowly acculturate and their numbers will increase, mostly through intermarriage as the number of full-bloods continues to decline.
