Kamil dies in 1908; the party never recovers from his death although it will continue to play a role in national political life until 1952.

It is the only political group that will refuse to take part in negotiations for the Anglo-Egyptian Treaty of 1936.

The Umma Party will participated in Egyptian party politics until the First World War, and its newspaper will cease publication in 1915.

The party's influence will be long-lasting, however, because Saad Zaghlul, who will emerge
as leader of the nationalist movement after the war, is part of the Umma/i/ Jaridah circle.
